historical process of the battery being invented:
1. In 1780, Italian chemist Calvo Gallini discovered the phenomenon of static electricity and
began to study how to store and use it. 2. In 1786, Luigi Gallovac discovered in his experiments
that metals produced an electric current when they were brought into contact. He combined
copper, zinc, and salt water to create the earliest “grape battery,” a device that produced a small
electric current.
3. In 1800, Alexander Volta discovered how silver and zinc could be poured on paper to make a
more efficient battery. His design consisted of multiple cells, each made of silver, salt water
droplets, and zinc, and the battery was called a voltaic battery.
4. In 1839, English chemist John Fratcher Daniel invented the first rechargeable battery. His
battery used materials such as sulfuric acid, copper, zinc, and carbon rods with porous ceramics.
5. In 1866, Vladimir Ostwald invented the dry battery, which was more portable and convenient
than the previous liquid battery, and retained its charge for a longer time.
With the progress of science and technology and the increasing demand for energy, the types
and uses of batteries are becoming more and more diverse. Now, batteries have become an
essential part of modern life. With the development of electrification technology, small
household appliances have a huge demand for dry batteries; With the development of vehicles
such as cars and ships, the demand for batteries has also grown rapidly. With the development of
satellite communication and microelectronics industry, new batteries such as solar cells and
lithium batteries began to appear.
